TRANSFORMATIVE. CHALLENGING. EMPOWERING. INTERNATIONAL.

TRANSFORMATIVE

LCIS students enthusiastically engage with new ideas and experiences, developing a lifelong love for learning. For 60 years, we have inspired excellence.

  • “The IB education I have been provided at LCIS has transformed me into the person I am today. I am now more open-minded, have gained so much knowledge, and have developed into a principled member of society. I have become a well-rounded person.”

  • “LCIS not only recognised and respected the differences in our three children, it cultivated and celebrated each child so they could grow to be the best “them” they could be, no matter where they go in pursuit of thier goals and aspirations”

  • “Teachers genuinely care about us. They’re really invested in our learning and helping us get to the next level. They’ll even come in early or stay late to meet with you if you need help.”

CHALLENGING

Through a personalised approach, our curriculums and programmes challenge students to meet high standards for academic, personal and interpersonal development.

  • “I am really grateful for the academic rigour of the IB. College is much easier than it would have been otherwise.

  • “The rigorous IB programme pushed me to exceed academic boundaries that I didn’t even know existed and to reach beyond what I thought was possible.”

EMPOWERING

LCIS students are encouraged to voice their opinions and reflect on their learning. Students develop strong leadership skills and take action to solve problems of local and global concern.

  • “LCIS teachers and staff provided me with an awareness of self-advocacy and confidence that has allowed me to fully engage in higher education.”

  • “Our education included life skills that we continue to carry even beyond our college careers. These skills make us LCIS-educated. They make us well-rounded. They make us world-class.”

International

LCIS is a diverse community of learners with more than 40 nationalities and 14 languages represented. We build on diverse perspectives while promoting multilingualism and fostering global citizenship.

  • “If I had to choose an aspect of the IB that assisted me the most in getting where I am, it would have to be the open-mindedness and global perspective that it instils in each student.”

  • “I was challenged to be constantly aware of different perspectives, ideas and approaches in order to learn how to balance those differences when looking at the big picture.”

A TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS

LCIS graduates enter top universities around the world prepared for lives of leadership, service and success in our complex global community.

  • “I have never won a bingo game or a grand prize in a raffle before, but when I learned that my daughter received a scholarship to attend Lyford Cay International School, for me it was a prayer that had been answered and a grand prize all in one.”

  • “At LCIS, I studied facts but also learned how to apply them. I developed study habits that helped me throughout medical school and that I still use today.”

Early Learning

Students in our Early Learning Centre (ELC) are as young as 18 months old. Their learning is play-based and guided by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. In the ELC, children acquire a variety of important skills, knowledge and attitudes that will enhance their future learning and participation in society. Our young learners develop strong bonds with their teachers and participate in specialist classes such as music, art, physical education and Spanish.

elementary

The Elementary School offers an inquiry-based approach to learning for students in Grades 1 through 5, within the framework of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. In Elementary School, we set the foundation for future academic, social and emotional wellbeing. Students master universal skills and concepts with their classroom teachers and benefit from specialised instruction in Spanish or French, music, physical education and art.

Upper school

In our Upper School, we prepare students for post-secondary study and to make an impact on the world as young leaders. Our students develop critical-thinking skills and become innovative problem solvers through our challenging and transformative curriculum. Students in Grades 6-10 follow the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, while we offer both the IB Diploma Programme and Career-Related Programme to students in Grades 11 and 12. All graduates earn the LCIS high school diploma and can personalise their experience with the IB course of study that best meets their goals.
