Rose Taylor


Lower School Counsellor

Mrs Rose Marie Taylor has been at LCIS for 24 years, she initially was hired as the first Guidance and School Counsellor and has held multiple roles in the school since then. She was appointed as Admissions Director in 2001. Mrs Taylor has worked in the field of education for 34 years with previous experience at two IB international schools in Costa Rica. She was the Counsellor at the British School of Costa Rica and Head of the Upper School Guidance and Counselling Department at Lincoln School.

At LCIS, Mrs Taylor held the position of School Counsellor from 1999 to 2014, offering individual counselling services to students, consultation for parents and faculty, and serving as a member of the Student Support Services team. Since November 2022, she has had responsibility for counselling at the Lower School. Mrs Taylor is available to students, parents and teachers regarding matters of personal wellbeing and other school-related issues. In addition, Mrs Taylor has a role in the implementation of the Child Protection Policy and procedures including lessons for students in the Lower School. Mrs Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Costa Rica, a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Alabama A&M University and a Certification in International School Leadership from the Principal’s Training Center (PTC).

Dr R. Michèle S. Mindorff


Upper School Counsellor/University Counsellor

Dr R. Michèle S. Mindorff currently serves as University and Upper School Counsellor and Wellbeing Lead at LCIS.

She is a former International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and Middle Years Programme Coordinator and an experienced administrator. She is an IB consultant, workshop leader and examiner, as well as an experienced international accreditation expert.

Dr Mindorff's educational doctorate degree was completed in 2020 and focused on resilience. She has lived and worked in many countries including Hungary, Scotland, Romania, Canada, China and The Bahamas.

Ms Isadora Blyden

Lower School Student Support Lead

Ms Isadora Blyden joined LCIS in 1997 as an Elementary School Teacher. She was appointed Coordinator of the Elementary School in 1999, and later Head of the Elementary School and Literacy Coordinator in 2005. In 2008, she was appointed Head of the Elementary and Student Support, in 2016 added the role of Head of Operations to her portfolio and in 2020 she became Head of the Lower School. In her divisions, Ms Blyden supervises and evaluates faculty members, supports teaching and learning, and assists with recruitment of new faculty. As Head of Operations, Ms Blyden is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient execution of the daily operations of the Lower School.

Ms Blyden holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with specialisations in Early Childhood, Special Education, Reading and Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University (Florida). She holds a Master of Arts Degree in International Education from Endicott College Boston Massachusetts, International Campus, Madrid, Spain. Ms Blyden has previously served as a special education teacher in West Palm Beach (Florida), a special education teacher at Horizons (Nassau) and an elementary classroom teacher. Ms Blyden has been an educator for 35 years.

Harry Almond

School Student Support Lead

Harry Almond, MAEd has worked in Student Support roles for ten years and holds a post-graduate certificate in Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordination (SENDCo) from The University of Northampton. The qualification is a mandatory requirement for all Student Support leaders in the United Kingdom. As the Assistant Head of Secondary, a member of the senior leadership team and IB Middle Year Programme (MYP) Coordinator, Mr Almond is well placed to support the strategic development of student support policy and provision. He is a team player who respects the need for a joint approach to supporting students' needs. He facilitates collaboration between teachers, student support specialists, parents and external agencies to help identify and support students who may require additional support.

Since joining LCIS in 2017, Mr Almond has completed several IB professional development courses that have enabled him to combine his knowledge and experience within an international setting. He most recently shared his knowledge and experience of leading student support as part of an accreditation evaluation team for the Council of International Schools (CIS). Mr Almond is passionate about holistic and personalised learning. He is systematic and uses evidence-based research and best practices to drive student progress towards specific, measurable and attainable outcomes.

Alicia Bradshaw

Student Support Coordinator

Alicia Bradshaw is dedicated to equipping learners with the necessary tools for academic and social success. With 13 years of experience in education, a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education, and a Master's Degree in Exceptional Student Education, Mrs Bradshaw's expertise and passion make her a valuable advocate for her students in the classroom.

Nurturing students and fostering a love for learning are at the core of Mrs Bradshaw's approach. She believes in instilling self-awareness and empowering students to understand themselves as learners. Working with students across various grade levels, from Kindergarten to Upper Elementary, Mrs Bradshaw considers it a privilege to have the opportunity to positively impact their lives. Her aspiration is to shape confident and capable individuals who are prepared to thrive in the future.

Kori Thompson

Student Support Teacher

Kori Thompson has been a teacher for nine years. She returned to LCIS in 2023 after serving as a Physical and Health Education Teacher at Stamford American School in Hong Kong.

Ms Thompson holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of The Bahamas and a Master of Education from Barry University, specialising in Exceptional Student Education. She plans to pursue a doctorate in education.

She is also an accomplished swimmer and coach, holding ASCA Level 4 Certification and FINA Level 2 Certification. She holds a Sport Rock Climbing Certification and an Outdoor Wilderness Certification. Ms Thompson is also an avid triathlon athlete.

Erin Fox

Student Support Teacher

Erin Fox, a passionate educator with 13 years of teaching expertise, holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education. Currently pursuing a Master's in School Counseling and certified as a Guidance and Career Education Counsellor through the Ontario Schools Association of Counselors, she is deeply committed to breaking down barriers to learning.

Ms Fox possesses additional qualifications in reading instruction, English as a Second Language teaching, and a Special Education specialisation. Since joining LCIS in 2017, she has passionately advocated that every child has the potential for success. Her holistic approach combines academic and social-emotional strategies, exemplifying her dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. Recognising that well-being encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual health, Ms Fox also coaches cross country and volleyball at the high school level.

Ms Fox has held positions such as Assistant PYP Coordinator and Grade Level Lead for Grades 1-3, showcasing her leadership and commitment to educational excellence at LCIS. She is a lifelong learner with extensive IB training, enriching her ability to provide an exceptional educational experience for her students.

Nurse Bower

Upper School Nurse

Nurse Bower was born in Perth, Scotland. She worked as a Nursing Auxiliary for 1 year at Perth Royal Infirmary in the General, Dental and Plastic Surgery Operating Theaters. Upon turning 17.5 years of age, she commenced her training as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) at the same hospital. Once qualified as a RGN she returned to the same Theaters to work as a Staff Nurse.

Having moved to Edinburgh, she then worked in the Medical, Cardiothoracic and Ear, Nose and Throat units. She then went to The Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion to train as a Registered Midwife. Having completed her training she then worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Antenatal and Postnatal wards at the same hospital.

Nurse Bower then moved to Nassau, Bahamas where she has lived for over 30 years. She worked at Doctors Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit and Recovery Room and as a Private Nurse in Lyford Cay. She has been working at Lyford Cay International School (LCIS) since 2012, the first school nurse for LCIS.

Nurse Bower attends regular professional development and continuing nursing education activities to maintain knowledge of and competency with current nursing practice and keep abreast of best practices in school nursing. She attended the NASN Annual Conferences in San Francisco, Orlando, Texas, Baltimore and Indianapolis.

Nurse Bower is registered with: United Kingdom Nursing and Midwifery Council Bahamas Nursing Council. Professional Memberships include: National Association of School Nurses Private, Independent, and Parochial School Nurses Overseas School Health Nurses Association

Jeanette Mosko

Kitchen Coordinator

Ms Mosko is originally from Seattle, Washington, and has lived in The Bahamas since 1989. She worked in the medical field as an assistant to a General Practitioner (homoeopathy) and an Orthopaedic Surgeon for 12 years, but her true passion has always been cooking. She is self taught and has operated a personal catering business for more than 15 years. She has taken her medical knowledge and incorporated it into healthy cooking habits and catering to the needs of private families.

Ms Mosko truly enjoys seeing the smiles on students’ faces as they enjoy healthy, nutritious meals from the school kitchen. She is open to special nutritional guidelines for individual students and enjoys communicating with parents and school staff.
