LCIS to Host KPMG Football Fest This Weekend
LCIS will host its 11th KPMG Football Fest this weekend from Friday 8 November to Saturday 9 November 2024.
Teams from Cedar International School (British Virgin Islands), American International School of Kingston (Jamaica), Codrington School (Barbados), Cayman International School (Cayman Islands), Lucaya International School (Grand Bahama), St Andrew’s International School, Windsor School, and four teams from Lyford Cay International School will participate in this U14 tournament.
This year, over 160 footballers, both boys and girls, will play 40 matches of competitive football. Game times for Day 1 of the tournament can be seen below.
An opening ceremony will be held on Friday morning at 8.15am and the tournament will culminate on Saturday with four sets of semi-finals and then finals, with teams competing for the Bowl, Plate, Shield and Championship titles.
The LCIS Host Families have once again made the tournament possible by opening their homes and hearts to house over 75 students and coaches from across the Caribbean, enriching the experience for all involved.
The KPMG Football Fest is one example of LCIS’ commitment to the transformative international exposure it provides not just for LCIS students but for all participating athletes: “Events such as the KPMG Football Fest exemplify the truly transformative experiences we provide at LCIS. We seek to create opportunities for our students to become more highly-skilled athletes as well as internationally-minded, global citizens.”
Support for this event is provided by KPMG Bahamas who has served as the event’s main sponsor from its inception. OMG Bakery, Bahamas Wholesale Agencies, Thompson Trading, Bahama Blu, Marcos Pizza and Menchies will also contribute to the event, providing lunches and drinks throughout the weekend for athletes and coaches.
